Marta founded Boxer Rescue Canada in the mid 1990s, recruiting volunteers across Canada to help boxers in need. Boxer Rescue Canada has rescued, rehabilitated and placed hundreds of boxers over the years. Along with overseeing the rescue organization, Marta personally participates as a foster home taking in boxers with challenging behavioral issues. She’s also been known to be a haven for senior boxers in need.
Marta competes with her boxers in a broad range of events including conformation, obedience, agility, tracking and herding. Marta’s boxer “Lobo” earned many titles and was awarded the “Royal Trophy” for obedience by the Boxer Club of Canada and is one of a handful of boxers in Canada to earn the Alberta Boxer Club’s “Versatility Award”. This prestigious award is given out to dogs who are titled in multiple disciplines.
Professionally, Marta works in the IT field providing consulting services and IT support to local businesses. Marta has one daughter, Brianne, who is completing her undergrad degree at the University of BC in Kelowna. Brianne volunteers for Boxer Rescue Canada and has a boxer of her own, “Duke”.
